Anti-Spam Policy

The Responsible Email Program

This program, launched in October 2007, aims to communicate to our users - as well as to recipients of emails sent by our solution - Oxemis’ commitments in the fight against spam.

Oxemis vigorously condemns spam. As a reminder, we consider spam to be mass emails that do not comply with the legislation of the sender’s country. If the email in question was sent through one of our SMTP servers (hosted in France), French legislation applies.

Therefore, Oxemis commits, upon simple request from a recipient, an Internet service provider, or a host, to take all necessary measures against users who do not respect the legislation.

Sanctions may range (in accordance with the license agreement) from the pure and simple withdrawal of the right to use the software and/or its options to legal proceedings.

If you wish to use our solution for sending spam, if you wish to use it to communicate about dubious or prohibited activities, look elsewhere. These activities are strictly prohibited by the software license agreement and you expose yourself to prosecution or, at minimum, to the prohibition of using the software. Oxemis is a responsible French company and we prefer to lose a client rather than let spam spread.

About Our OxiMailing Solution

OxiMailing is software that allows mass email sending. By its nature, we cannot control all messages sent by our users and, even if the vast majority are serious companies, it may happen that one of our users uses our software for spamming.

Based on this observation, we have implemented very complex systems to semi-automatically identify a potential spammer and block them before they can distribute their message on a large scale.

Nevertheless, it should be known that the analysis system cannot detect 100% of spam, so we make it a point of honor to process all reports provided by email recipients.

About Address Files

Oxemis does not own any email address files (other than that of its own clients, whose data is not sold to third parties). We do not resell address files.

We also draw our clients’ attention to the fact that many companies offer low-cost email files. These files are mostly stolen files or of very poor quality because they are recovered by scraping. You are solely responsible in the case of mailings based on these address files, so ensure their quality and legality before any use.

What to Do If You Receive an Unsolicited Email?

Try to contact the sender by asking them about the origin of their address file, which will allow you to trace back to the source and, if necessary, have your address removed from the file in question. Do not hesitate to copy Oxemis on the message. If the sender refuses to respond or provide you with any information about how they obtained your address, follow the recommendations in the following paragraph.

How to Report Spam Sent by OxiMailing?

Forward the message (and its complete headers if possible) to the address abuse-oximailing [a] oxemis.com.

In Microsoft Outlook, complete headers are obtained by right-clicking on the message then “Options” (or “Message Options”). Do not hesitate to contact us if you need help.
